1. Use new dry erase markers

Replace markers as soon as they begin to dry or show excessive fraying. Continued use of markers in poor shape can result in scratches and disfiguration of your whiteboard, causing permanent damage. Consider the cost of the dry erase markers to your whiteboards and replace the markers as soon as possible.

2. How to clean a whiteboard

If possible, do not let dry erase marker ink stay on the board for more than a few days. Although most whiteboards have excellent surfaces nowadays they can still stain or “ghost” (showing an image of the mark after being erased). Wipe off the board after a couple of days with a smooth rag, towel, or lint free paper product– if the writing is very important and it is not a smart board, take a picture or copy the notes onto paper.
